Ms. Freedman grew up in the New York City restaurant business, which fostered her love of collecting and learning about fine and rare wine. While pursuing a degree in English Language and Literature at the University of Chicago, she worked in the kitchens of Daniel Boulud and Missy Robbins to learn the intricacies of the restaurant world. After college, she worked as a recipe developer at Bon Appetit Magazine and on several cookbooks. She spent a year as the client relations specialist at WineCredit, a specialty lender in the wine space, becoming an expert on the global wine market and cellar liquidation. Ms. Freedman served as the sommelier for the wine auction house Acker, Merrall, & Condit from 2014 to 2019 and is a Certified Sommelier through the Court of Master Sommeliers. As a Junior Partner in Acker’s Wine Workshop program, she orchestrated tastings of the world’s rarest wines and worked with winemakers and wine critics to create the ultimate wine experience for novices and experts alike. Since 2019, she has served as Acker’s Director of Special Projects.
